Two small sparrows glance at each other from the top and bottom recesses of two frames. Two separate painted wood frames create interest in this dypthic. The minimalist lines of the frame are in contrast with the natural look of the birds. The recess and frame sides have been painted in a color to contrast with the white face of the frame.

I have built these sparrows in great detail using oxides and underglazes to achieve their color. The eyes have been glazed with clear glaze to make them shine while the body remains mat for a more natural look.
